Check to see if the controller has an update and then try to disconnect the controller all together and then reconnect it.

Also check with things like microwave ovens, cordless phones, and other things that operate on similar frequencies are not doing things. My cousin's Wi-Fi disconnects every time he starts the microwave for example

Thanks for your question BigDabs, I would say the two main things to check are as follows:

1) Physical obstructions between your controller and your console. This is a big one, as I find this is causing most of the issues people report concerning intermittent connection issues with their controllers.

2) Updates. As FadingtoJosh recommended, please tryre-syncing the controller or checking for an update:

Goodluck with this issue, and I hope this information helps!

Hi

Sorry for my poor english, but i'm French

i have an xbox one X since day one and 3 controllers and one white elite controller...

since a few months i noticed that sometimes ( very randomly ) my white elite controller while i was gaming duddenly start to blink once and the game ask me to press A to continue , like if the controller lost it's onecction to the console for half a second.

i thought at first that the elite controller was faulty , i've sent it to microsoft and they it back to me ( despite saying it was an exchange ) i got the same controller same serial .. and same issue ..

but the weird thing is while the controller was send to the Netherland , i had to use regular xbox one controller, and i noticed that it happenned on each of them

i've reseted the console multiples time, even with deleting all apps and games , because my set up is 2 x 4 TB WD hard drive and a 500 external SSD all connected in each port , so i didn't loose any games cos of course i disconnected all the external drives.

all controllers are up to date, i've tried via wifi or USB, no update found...

so since yesterday i've finally send my xbox one X scorpio for repair cos i thought maybe it was the wifi card... ( and this console have another known issue with Ace Combat 7 where the console shut down nearly each time my plane crash or explode... very weird but i think it's a software bug and dust inside the console may be the culprit here...

the funny thing is that i just got a brand new xbox one X bought on the microsoft store , updated it  and guess what ? same issue..

all i can say is that i was a insiders for a while , but  removed my xbox one X from it a few month ago , and it would not explain the fact that the brand new xbox one X that i got yesterday have the same issue..

i can"t believe that this is still an issue , there is plenty of thread online about controller randomly disconnecting...

so i dunno what to do , i wanted to share my experience, cos i have only official batteries , that i charge via USB on another console or device

i'm surrounded by multiples wifi enabled devices, but i can't believe that this should be an issue..

did someone have a magic workaround for this issue..

it's not a big deal cos when it happens , the controller will often cuts the connection 1 to 4 times for a half second, the real pain is that the game in my case monster hunter world thinks the controller is not connected so i have a prompt to press A... and i often play online....

I think my case is interesting cos it shows that it is a software bug , maybe all my batteries were kinda corrupted when i was in insider program

maybe i'll buy a brand new battery , but i already got 4 or 5 battery pack ... lol

PLEASE HELP ME ^^

Merci beaucoup .

A mi me pasaba algo parecido pero descubrí que eran las baterías (recargables Sony), no sera tiempo de reemplazarlas?

[Edit - Translation] - Something similar happened to me but I discovered that they were batteries (Sony rechargeable), won't it be time to replace them?

thanks for google translate, you are saying that you were using rechargeable batteries meaning official microsoft battery packs ? or AAA Batteries ? because i only use microsoft batteries packs , never used duracells or Energizer...

which type of rechargeable batteries you were using ? the black microsoft one called battery pack ? and when you buy a new one did the problem solved itself permanently ?

edit : apparently u used sony rechargeables batteries, but i have like 5 or 6 official Microsoft battery packs , each last for like 50 hours of gameplay, and i often have this problem when they are fully charged... so it's not like they were empty u understand ?

did the fact that u changed the battery solve this problem for you ??

 Gracias Amigo ^^

Hello Ange,

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. This thread is a bit old, so it will be locked due to its age. If you haven't already, please go ahead and make a new thread detailing this issue and any troubleshooting steps (if any) you've tried so far. That way we can tailor our support specifically to you. It is always best to create a new thread when you have a question that requires support. You get more traffic that way, and its not so efficient to revive older posts.

We will be happy to help you there!

Thanks again

Happy Gaming!
